Photography - What's in the bag?

I enjoy mixing different perspectives in a story, including movie clips, stills, time-lapse etc. So, what's in my camera bag? Let's take a quick look.

What's in the bag?

I sometimes get asked what equipment I use for taking pictures and movie clips. I like the idea of combining different perspectives in a clip or picture story so I use a variety of cameras. Nothing too fancy or overly expensive, but here's a short list:

Camera:

I use a mirrorless Nikon Z5 and have two lenses, a 24-70mm F4 zoom and a 105mm F2.8 macro lens. These, I've found cover 90% of the needs I have for it as I don't really want to carry al large telephoto lens on top of everything else. For colourgrading and editing I use Lightroom.

Actioncam:

This year I got a DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro. It works really well in a host of different situations, from filming fast action clips to time-lapse and slo-mo clips as well as underwater clips (we are both divers). The picture quality is excellent and the camera fits in your pocket.

Drone:

After years of drooling at other peoples drone footage, we finally bought a DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone earlier this year. I flew a lot of radio controlled model planes as a kid, so getting the hang of flying it was pretty straight forward. Learning how to shoot good videos with was another thing! After over 6 months of practise, I'm still learning every time I fly but I absolutely love bringing the Birds Eye perspective to a story. All editing and colour grading is done with Da Vinci Resolve.

My Phone

Sometimes the only way to capture a moment is to use your phone, as the camera bag isn't on my back 24/7 and the phone is always with me. The picture quality on my iPhone 15 Pro is excellent when shooting in ProRAW and Apple ProRes. Miia takes most of her pictures with her iPhone 16 Pro.
